We run all our surgeries by an appointment-only system. Appointments can be booked by telephone (20 592067/20 592351), visiting the surgery in person or online. The staff will always try and make an appointment with the doctor of your choice, but if this is not possible, you will be offered an appointment with a different doctor. The surgery offers same day appointments and next day appointments to patients. These appointments are available for patients who have an urgent medical condition that cannot wait for a routine appointments. There are also appointments for patients to book in advance for more routine consultations e.g. medication reviews.
Missed Appointments: We regularly experience a high number of patients who do not attend for a booked appointment. This results in other patients having to wait longer for an appointment to see the doctor/nurse. It is essential that any patient who cannot attend an appointment, contacts the surgery at least 1 working day before the appointment to cancel and rebook if needed. We monitor patients who fail to cancel appointments, and patients who continually fail to attend appointments may be removed from the practice list. This will result in patients having to find another surgery to register with.
Telephone Advice: The surgery offers patients telephone advice, particularly when all same day appointments have been booked. The reception staff will take a contact telephone number and ask for details of the problem, which will be recorded for the doctor. This is so that the doctor can Triage urgent requests. It will normally be the duty doctor of the day or an Advanced Nurse Practitioner who will ring you back, but you can request a specific doctor, providing they are in surgery on that day. The nursing staff are also available for telephone advice. Requests for telephone advice from the nursing staff will be dealt with in the same way.
Home Visits: Telephone: 20 592351 – Before 11.00 am where possible. You will be asked for a telephone contact number and details of the problem. A doctor may telephone to assess the call. Please help us to avoid unnecessary home visits by requesting telephone advice or a surgery appointment where possible.
We try to make sure you see the doctor of your choice but if they are not available we may ask you to see another doctor.
You need to register to use our online appointment booking service and this is best done in person at the surgery. Please speak to one of our receptionists.
